For many decades, farmers from the village of La Villa have taken their cows and horses to mountain pastures on the Gardenaccia Plateau, the country’s symbolic mountain, within the Puez-Odle Natural Park. Once upon a time, farmers knew the direct path, steeper and more demanding than the routes used today by enthusiasts. This path was called “les cordes” (Ladin rope) and it is here that the via ferrata is reborn, bearing the same name. The via ferrata starting point is easily reached by the Gardenaccia chairlift, which takes hikers 5 minutes from the start. Via ferrata can only be covered with the right equipment, and for the less experienced it is advisable to do it with a mountain guide.
